Fall Pack Meetings

posted Dec 17, 2016, 6:08 AM by Gary Manns

Our Pack meetings throughout the Fall focused on Patriotism and we had several special guests visit with us. In September Mr. Rege Riley, Post Commander at AMVETS in Braddock Hills, thanked us for our participation in placing flags at veterans' gravesites on Memorial Day weekend. In October Mr. Jonathan Schachter, who serves as a Judge of Elections in Forest Hills and oversees the voting that takes place in the very room at FHPC where our Pack meets, spoke to the boys about the importance of voting and how an election is conducted. In November Mr. David Mahlstedt, a former guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, spoke to us about his service to our country, particularly what it was like to serve as a guard protecting our nation’s memory of those who have fallen in the line of duty. And in December Mr. Jeff Flohr came to talk about the American flag and what it represents to us. Thank you ALL for visiting our Pack!
