Family Overnighter

posted Oct 1, 2017, 4:59 AM by Gary Manns

We had nearly 100 Scouts, parents and siblings attend our Fall Family Campout at the Forest Hills Pool Lodge on Friday night. And over 20 families pitched their tent and spent the night. We enjoyed hot dogs/sausages, chips, drinks and of course S'mores! The Tigers led us off performing their first skit as members of Pack 90. Well done and thanks everyone for your participation!

posted Sep 18, 2017, 5:57 PM by Gary Manns

We had 14 new Scouts join Pack 90 during the last few weeks. We are SO excited to welcome these Scouts and their families into our Pack. But it's NOT TOO LATE to join! Please contact the Cubmaster (cubmaster90@gmail.com) if you're interested in signing up your son.

Bike Ride

posted Aug 27, 2017, 7:14 AM by Gary Manns

This was a popular new activity last year so we tried it again this year on Sunday, August 20 and had 6 Scouts and their families enjoy the ride. We rode from Millvale Riverfront Park towards Downtown where we stopped for a refreshing splash in the Water Steps near PNC Park. Everyone managed the 6 miles with no flat tires (well that is if you don’t count our Wolf leader who had two flats before he even started).

Riverhounds Soccer Game

posted Aug 27, 2017, 7:13 AM by Gary Manns

The Pack ventured to the Southside to catch a Riverhounds game on Wednesday, July 26. We had 12 Scouts and families join us. Our Scouts got a special treat when they accompanied the players onto the field during their introductions at the start of the game. The Hounds ended up tying Charlottesville that night but it was a GREAT game!

Summer Camp

posted Jul 19, 2017, 6:05 PM by Gary Manns

We had 12 Cub Scouts and 9 Webelos enjoy summer camp at Heritage Reservation. The boys got to swim, boat, fish, shoot BB and pellet guns and archery, hike through the forest, learn Scouting skills, scale the climbing wall, ride BMX bikes, play games with their friends, throw sponges at the parents (which were thrown back), roast marshmallows, and enjoy sleeping in a tent for 3 nights. And the food was good too! The moms and dads who attended loved the time they spent with their sons at camp.

FOS Breakfast

Our Cubmaster and his son were invited to speak to the Laurel Highlands Council annual Friends of Scouting breakfast this week to speak to the 200+ corporate attendees about what Scouting means to them and their family. Their message was Scouting = Family since it provides so many wonderful opportunities to spend quality time together learning new skills and adventures. And they got to meet former Steelers' defensive end Brett Keisel. Very cool!

Remembering our Fallen Heroes

posted May 29, 2017, 5:20 AM by Gary Manns

Our Cub Scouts helped to place US flags at the grave sites at All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery to remember those who served in the military. We remember our soldiers who sacrificed their lives so that we can live in the "home of the free and land of the brave." Thank you!

Flower Planting

posted May 29, 2017, 5:16 AM by Gary Manns

Several of our Cub Scouts helped join with members from the Garden Club of Forest Hills to help plant flowers at the pool and main park. This beautification activity will be enjoyed all summer. Thank you Scouts!

Congratulations Pack 90 Scouts!

posted Apr 2, 2017, 5:31 AM by Gary Manns

Last night we celebrated the achievements of our Pack 90 Scouts at our Blue & Gold Banquet. All 59 Scouts received their rank advancement badges. Congratulations to our Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts! Plus we said goodbye to our AOL Scouts as they "crossed over" to become Boy Scouts in Troop 90. We wish them the best of luck in the troop!
